The B-Ball Bearing Series is built to give you an economical conveyor idler for light to moderate duty service. Marketing and technical support is provided from our Winfield, Alabama, headquarters. In addition, the company maintains sales and service representatives worldwide and stocking distributors throughout the United States.
B-Ball Bearing Series idlers are offered with either 20° or 35° trough angle. The 35° units are recommended for high volume materials of uniform size such as wood chips, where it is advantageous to handle a greater volume on the same belt width.
The 4" and 5" diameter rolls are of one-piece construction with factory sealed ball bearings for permanent roll lubrication. The rolls are fitted at either end with deep groove, high capacity, precision ball bearings, having a flexible lip type seal and a steel shield toward the inside of the roll. To further protect the bearing assembly from dirt and damage, a shield is pressed on the shaft outside the bearing. The solid 17mm shaft provides strength and the small moment arm minimizes shaft slope at bearing which increases bearing life.
The roll assemblies are secured at each end by a horseshoe-shaped, spring steel clip which engages milled slots in the shaft. The clips are easily removed if bearing replacement is necessary. Rolls are secured in the frame assembly by special clips providing a rigid, one-piece unit, yet allowing easy roll removal when necessary.
End and center stands are die formed from steel plate, and end stands are channel formed for greater rigidity. Stands and foot plates are fixture-welded to the self-cleaning inverted base angle, assuring accurate roll alignment.
In addition to 20° and 35° troughing idlers, a complete line of idlers, including 5" diameter rubber disc returns, is available. These have the same design features described above.
